RENATA BRIANO

Renata Briano

 born in Genoa in 1964, holds a degree in Natural Sciences and has worked as a researcher at ITD CNR and ARPA Liguria. She served as Environment and Sustainable Development Councillor in the Province of Genoa (2000-2010) and as Environment and Civil Protection Councillor in the Liguria Region (2010-2014). From 2014 to 2019 she was a Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Fisheries Committee. Since 2019, Cristina has embraced food blogging and collaborates with Giallo Zafferano after earning a “Chef Fuoriclasse” diploma at the European Training Centre.
A mother and wife to writer Luciano Ricci, Cristina, deeply in love with Liguria, chose to acquire a house in Lucinasco (IM) with her husband and to start an olive oil production venture with her friend Cristina Armato. Cristina Armato is an acclaimed and multi-award winning producer based in Lucinasco, celebrated internationally for the high quality of her Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil. The family business has roots going back five generations, and Cristina today blends tradition with innovation in managing the estate and producing premium oils and olive products
